SolMandalas is the first “live” algorithmically generated NFT artworks hosted on-chain on Solana & Arweave. Each NFT will point to its own live generative algorithm - so you can watch it forever, and fall into the depths of its calming animations!

Why did we make SolMandalas?

Everywhere you look, you see chaos. Every time you open Discord, Twitter, or even take the bus, you discover the next generative NFT project - and we believe that it’s time we found some calm in this chaos. Welcome to SolMandalas: A route to discover your own inner peace and full power of the self.

SolMandalas is a collection of 2,495 algorithmically generated animated Mandalas. Every single one of them is unique and has different properties which support the tastes of all people. SolMandalas will be brought to life through an exploration of symmetry, movement, and balance. So take a deep breath and join us as we begin our meditative journey together.

SolMandalas is a series of dynamic artworks that offer collectors an opportunity to pause, take a breath, and become more present. Created in reaction to the volatile and ever-changing landscape of NFT art - these algorithmically generative artworks undulate beautifully, inviting viewers to watch them slowly change over time, and as they become more active during the day. The collection of SolMandala NFTs are on the Solana and Arweave blockchains.

What is unique about SolMandalas?

Each NFT comes with its own code - permanently stored on the Arweave blockchain allowing easy access for owners.
The artworks respond to the time of day! During daylight hours, the SolMandalas begin to spin - becoming more active until noon - and then calming down in the evening and night time hours.
We believe that SolMandala NFTs are the first LIVE generative artwork to be released on the Solana blockchain.

Dot, Line, Triangle, Square, Pentagram, ALL - Determines the shapes used to construct the mandala.

BG-COLOR

Black, White - The background color of the Mandala.

COLORS

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Black, White, Air, Earth, Fire, Water, Prismic - Color of the mandala.

FILL

Solid, Outline - Whether or not shapes are filled in.

TRANSPARENCY

High, Medium, Low for drops #1 & #2, and 10%, 6%, 2%, 1% starting from drop #3 - Background transparancy of the Mandala, low values give the effect of 'tails' behind shapes. >

What is an NFT?

It stands for "non-fungible token” and is data that is stored or accounted for in a digital ledger, and represents a piece of art, music or other forms of digital files.

How many are being minted, and over how many drops?

There will be around 10 drops. The total minted volume will be 2,495 NFTs (including partnerships and giveaways).

How many NFTs can be minted with the same wallet?

You can mint up to 10 NFTs with the same wallet.

Where can I buy or sell SolMandalas?

On this website during the mint, and on secondary markets in the future. Secondary markets will be confirmed closer to the mint date.

How many of the total 2,495 NFT's will be reserved for giveaways?

We are reserving just under 10% (333) NFTs for partnerships & giveaways.

Is there a pre-sale?

Yes! If you join our Discord, you can achieve an OG-Mandala role - which gives you access to the presale - by being involved, engaged, active, etc!

Where can I view my SolMandalas?

We recommend using either Phantom or Solflare - both are awesome!

Why the strange number convention?

0 is a perfect circle with a vortex of creative power at its center.

1 is a strong assertive symbol of individuality - it represents the beginning of self-discovery and self-empowerment.

2 is the number of union, balance, co-creation - very relevant for generative art - a collaboration between the machine and the artist.

3 is the number of community - without which the project would suffer.

Meet The Team

We are a team of people who work together in the real world.

SolMandalas was started by Daniel Hirschmann - a physical/digital artist who uses creative technology at the core of his work. His artwork has been exhibited at the Centre Pompidou (FR), V&A and Science Museum (UK), the Whitney Museum of American Art and National Portrait Gallery (US). His work can be found in the permanent collection of the London Design Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in NY.

He founded Hirsch & Mann in 2010 - an art & technology studio whose mission is to create memorable digital and physical experiences in the world and online. The entire team and some alumni worked extremely hard to bring this project to reality - including (alphabetically): Joanne Harik, Edmund Oetgen, Miklos Onody, George Profenza, Adam Ray-Braun, Roberto Weiser, Martin White as well as @HSorta, 0xAlice, and years of learning thanks to Processing & P5JS.

None of us are meditation experts, but after a pandemic and the exciting wild west of blockchain projects, we wanted to deepen our own meditation and wellness practices so we can all become better versions of ourselves.
